Lakefront Luxury Home in Chiang Mai.
In a quiet part of Chiang Mai right in front of a lake, you will find a unique property that would fulfill every need you could have from a luxury home in Northern Thailand. I had the pleasure of visiting this property when the owner called me up to help him sell it.
We spoke for a bit over the phone as he told me about it and we made arrangements for me to go visit to see if I would list it.
When I visited the home, I didn’t know much about San Patong, where this home is located. The feel is rural, and apparently there is a big market once a week, which is called the Buffalo Market. A truly authentic market where farmers and handicraft artists come to sell their wares. Here you will find things you won’t find on any normal market in Chiang Mai city.
When I first arrived I thought to myself, this place is a bit far, as I had driven 35 min to get to the house. When you are used to living in Chiang Mai, you get unrealistically spoilt in regards to travel time. But as I spent more time there with the friendly Kiwi owner who was showing me around I was taking photos and notes, I started to realize what a truly unique and special property this was.
This lakefront property sits on 1.5 rai of land and consists of a main house with 4 bedrooms and a 2 bedroom guesthouse, perfect for visiting friends or having your parents closeby, which is quite common in asian culture.
The house is facing the lake, where the road around it is half-closed in the mornings and evenings for people to jog around. You can relax by the pool and and still have your privacy.
Should you get visitors theres plenty of room for a barbeque outside and the garden is quite spacious with lots of fruit trees such as bananas, mango, coconut and more.
Truly a small tropical paradise of a home located right next to the water with a local feel to it. Peace and calm is the theme, yet you are only 1km away from the main road into town.
The house itself has been constructed with longevity in mind. The owner having a background in construction, built everything with high quality materials and the pool system was even imported to make sure it was of the highest quality.
Inside when walking around taking photos there were no aircons on. The owner told me how he had used the expensive cool blocks (aerated concrete – blocks made with air bubbles inside to keep the heat from going through) to keep the house as cool as possible.
Another thing I loved about the place was the spacious guesthouse. It had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, so lots of privacy guaranteed.
All in all, it was a pleasure to visit such a home that had everything. Heres the video I made of the property and a link to the listing for more information.
